Baba Blakes

Dennis Zwickert becomes the artist project Baba Blakes. The idea of the German Northern Irish musician was born in Singapore in early 2020. Under his own name, Dennis began his Instagram career, uploading music covers and sharing his everyday life on the Internet. As a result, the musician reached over thousands of followers on his channel. In the back of his mind, the desire to have his own artist project grew, even in these unusual times. The debut single ‘On The Run’ was released on June 11, 2021 along with a music video. The following single ‘Sign’ came out on August 06, 2021. The third single ‘Hypnotized’ was released on November 12. The year 2022 started very eventfully for Baba Blakes. In March, he recorded a session for Deluxe Music at the legendary Hansa Studios and talked about his development so far in the following interview with Markus Kavka. On April 29, ‘Sweethoneylove’, the first single of the new year, was released, before the first headlining tour through nine cities started in May. Baba Blakes’ musical idea is oriented towards playlist sounds in the feelgood indie area with artists like Roosevelt, Giant Rooks and many more. But Dennis is also influenced by his old band ‘In My Days’. References like Rock im Park and over 300 other played concerts, music placements on RTL ZWEI, TV experiences in front of an audience of millions on VOX, two EPs and one album shaped the musician.
