Collection and Use of Your Data

Below we inform you about the collection of personal data when using our websites. Personal data refers to all information that can be related to you personally, e.g., name, address, email addresses, and user behavior.

The extent and nature of the collection and use of your personal data depend on whether you are visiting our website for informational purposes only or are utilizing services we may offer.

If we rely on additional (IT) service providers for specific features of our offerings or intend to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you below in detail about the respective processes (all data processing operations). We will also specify the established criteria for the data retention period and the applicable legal basis for the data processing.

Informational Use

When you visit our website using your browser, your browser transmits certain data that must be processed by the responsible server in order to deliver the requested content to you. This data includes your IP address, information about the specific page accessed, the time of the request, the address (URL) of the referring website, as well as details about the browser and operating system used.

Retention Period
To fulfill a browser request, the data is stored by the server delivering the website only until the content is fully transmitted. To detect technical errors or misuse, some of this data is stored in anonymized form in log files on the server. For this purpose, your IP address is anonymized by replacing part of it with a random value. It is then no longer possible to re-establish a personal reference via the IP address. The log files are deleted after 7 days.

Legal Basis for Data Processing
The aforementioned data is technically necessary to display our websites to you and to ensure stability and security.

Playing YouTube Videos

We have embedded YouTube videos on our websites that are stored on https://www.youtube.com and can be played directly from our websites.

When you access a webpage with an embedded video, no connection is initially established with YouTube's servers. Instead of the embedded video, only a preview image is displayed, which we retrieve from our web server.

As soon as you click the button to enable the service, the YouTube video will be embedded in Enhanced Privacy Mode (a YouTube internal feature), meaning that initially only a connection to YouTube's servers under the internet domain “youtube-nocookie.com” is established, and your IP address is transmitted to YouTube. Additional personal data may only be transferred to YouTube (Google) once you play the video.

If you are simultaneously logged into your Google account while visiting our websites, Google may associate the visit to our webpages with your user behavior. Furthermore, cookies may be sent to your browser by YouTube (Google). We have no control over this process and receive no information from YouTube (Google) about the transferred content. If you do not want this activity to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the video.

Analysis of Your User Behavior by YouTube (Google)
YouTube (Google) stores your data as user profiles and uses it for purposes of advertising, market research, and/or the demand-oriented design of its websites. This analysis occurs in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide tailored advertising and to inform other social network users about your activities on our websites.

You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles. To exercise this right, you must contact YouTube (Google) directly.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
For more information about data protection at YouTube Inc. (Google Inc.), please visit: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Retention Period
Refer to the retention period for logs under Informational Use earlier in this privacy policy.

Legal Basis for Data Processing
We use this service solely based on your personal consent.

Withdrawal of Consent
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time at the top of privacy.

Contacting Us

When you contact us via the contact form or by email, the data you provide (your name, email address, possibly your phone number, and your message) will be stored by us to answer your question(s). Required fields are clearly marked; additional information is voluntary. The purpose of this processing is to handle your inquiry.

Retention Period
We delete the data collected in this context once storage is no longer required or limit processing if statutory retention obligations exist (a maximum of ten years for commercial and tax-related archiving of business email communications).

Legal Basis for Data Processing
Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party or for carrying out pre-contractual measures at the data subject's request.

Webshop

If you wish to place an order in our webshop, it is necessary to provide personal data required to process your order. Required fields are clearly marked; additional information is voluntary.

Customer Account
When placing an order in our webshop, you can choose whether to provide the necessary information only once for that order or to create a customer account where your data will be stored for future orders. By creating an account, your data will be stored revocably, and you can request the deletion of your account at any time.

Payment
To process payments, we transmit the necessary payment data to our bank, the credit institution handling the payment, or the payment service provider you selected during the ordering process.

Retention Period
We generally process your master data (customer account) for as long as you are registered in our shop. Your customer history is regularly deleted after 2 years.

Due to commercial and tax regulations, we are obligated to store your address, payment, and order data for a period of ten years. However, after 2 years, we restrict processing, meaning your data will only be used to fulfill legal obligations.

Legal Basis for Data Processing
Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party or for carrying out pre-contractual measures at the data subject's request.

Newsletter

You can subscribe to a newsletter. To receive our newsletter regularly, we need at least your email address (required field) to which the newsletter will be sent. Any additional information is voluntary and is used to address you personally.

We use the Double Opt-In procedure for newsletter registration. This means we will only send you the newsletter once you have confirmed your registration via a confirmation email sent to you for this purpose. This ensures that only you, as the owner of the email address, can subscribe to the newsletter. Your confirmation must be provided promptly after receiving the confirmation email; otherwise, your newsletter subscription will be automatically deleted.

Withdrawal of Your Consent
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking the relevant link at the end of the newsletter or by sending a message to the contact details provided in the Imprint.

Newsletter Success Measurement
We would like to inform you that we analyze your user behavior when sending the newsletter. For this purpose, tracking pixels are included in the newsletter that are linked to an ID. The links in the newsletter also contain this ID. This allows us to track when you read our newsletters and which links you click on. Data is collected exclusively in pseudonymized form; the IDs are not linked to your personal data, which ensures that a direct connection to you is excluded.

Retention Period
If you do not confirm your registration, your information will be automatically deleted.

After successful registration, your data will be stored for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter. Once you unsubscribe, we will store your data purely for statistical and anonymized purposes.

We also retain your IP address and the times of registration and confirmation for the newsletter. This is necessary to provide proof of your consent and to investigate any misuse of your personal data (e.g., if a third party improperly uses your email address for registration).

Legal Basis for Data Processing
The newsletter subscription is carried out based on your personal consent.

The storage of further information related to the time of registration and the IP address is in our legitimate interest. Analyzing your pseudonymized user behavior (newsletter success measurement) is also in our legitimate interest to make the newsletter more engaging and better aligned with the interests of our readers.

For sending newsletters, we use the service provider Intuit Mailchimp, 405 N Angier Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. In this process, data is also processed outside the EU in the USA. By agreeing to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, we have taken the necessary measures to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

Presences on Social Media Platforms

We maintain online presences on the social networks and platforms listed below. These social networks and platforms are operated solely by the respective provider, resulting in what is known as joint responsibility.

When you visit our social media pages, your user data will be collected and provided to us by the provider. The types of data differ from provider to provider but generally include the following information:

Followers: Number of followers and associated profiles; information about growth and trends over a defined period.

Reach: Number of people who see a specific post; number of interactions with a post. This can help determine which content performs better in the community than others.

Ad Performance: How many people were reached by a post or paid advertisement and interacted with it?

Demographics: Average age of visitors, gender, location, language.

Since our social media channels are operated by the providers of each respective social network, these providers may additionally use your personal data in ways over which we have no influence. This typically includes collecting your IP address, creating statistical evaluations, and processing other information stored in the form of cookies. Activities may be directly linked to a profile. These data are frequently used to display interest-based advertisements within and outside the platforms. As operators, we have no influence over the generation or display of this functionality, nor can we disable this or prevent the processing of such data.

Our social media channels serve as platforms for communicating with customers, interested parties, and users, as well as for advertising and market research purposes. When you contact us through our social media channels, we process the data you provide to us, as well as the data necessary for handling your inquiry. The further processing of your data is based on our legitimate interest in direct communication with users and optimizing the presentation of our online presences. If you have granted consent to the respective social media platform operators (e.g., via an opt-in checkbox), processing is carried out on the basis of your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time by contacting the platform provider with effect for the future.

We delete the collected data once the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled.

The most effective way to exercise your data protection rights or submit access requests is to contact the respective platform providers directly, as only they have access to your data and can take immediate action. Should our assistance be necessary in this regard, we will support you as needed to enforce your rights.

Below you will find the social media platforms we use. Should any data processing occur outside the EU, we have taken the necessary measures to ensure compliance with data protection standards (generally through the conclusion of EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
