Johann Scheerer

Johann Scheerer, founder and CEO of Clouds Hill Group, formed his first band at the age of fifteen, recorded his first album in 1999 and went on tour in Germany. After graduating from high school, he got a record deal for his solo project “Karamel” and founded the recording studio “Rekordbox” in 2003. Johann Scheerer works as a music producer with internationally renowned musicians such as Omar Rodríguez-López, At the Drive-In, Alice Phoebe-Lou, Gallon Drunk, Rocko Schamoni or Peter Doherty. Johann is a skillful and effective counterbalance to strong-minded artists and designs parameters in which to work efficiently. He loves to evolve songs from scratch with raw talented writers or musicians and is always conscious of developing their talent and their songs. This way of working is further supported by making full use of the abundant resources at his studio, Clouds Hill Recordings. Being an artist in his own right, he is a musician, songwriter, producer, engineer and author. 2018 saw the publication of his highly acclaimed first novel “Wir sind dann wohl die Angehörigen”. His second book “Unheimlich Nah” followed in 2021.
