Jan Plewka took five years to create this new solo album, and the result is a work that bridges music and visual art. “Eine Art Soloalbum” tells, through poetic and personal songs, of the cycle of life in the intoxication of the seasons—of love, longing, pain, and farewell. These are sensually enchanting songs, deeply rooted in Plewka’s very own sound.
The album is not only a musical statement, but also marks an important step in Jan Plewka’s artistic evolution as a solo artist. It presents him as an independent creative voice and reflects his wide-ranging spectrum between music, language, and visual art.
Plewka first became known as the defining voice of the rock band Selig, through his acclaimed interpretations of Rio Reiser, his theater work, and his contributions to the children’s music project “Unter meinem Bett.” With “Eine Art Soloalbum” he now brings his unmistakable signature and artistic identity to the forefront more than ever before.
Featured guests on the new album include Lina Maly, Mieze Katz (MIA.), and Marianne Rosenberg.
