Singer and songwriter Katharina Franck, born in 1963 in Düsseldorf, grew up in Portugal and Brazil. In 1981, she returned to Germany and sang in various bands, including ROCCOCO, CLUB 46 – which released an EP "Ein neuer Wind weht" in 1982 – and LES BLACK CARNATIONS, who released the album "Beat The Attitude" in 1986 and "These were Les Black Carnations" in 1988. In 1986, she founded the band RAINBIRDS in Berlin. Their song "Blueprint", first released at the end of 1987, became an evergreen. The band received one Gold and one Platinum award for their debut album "Rainbirds", and another Gold award for "Call Me Easy, Say I'm Strong, Love My Way, It Ain't Wrong" released in 1989.
